What is a Display Driver?

A display driver is a specialized software program (and sometimes a combination of software and firmware) that enables the graphics processing unit (GPU) or integrated graphics chip to communicate with the display device. It converts high-level rendering commands into low-level signals that the screen can understand.

For example, when you open a video, play a game, or scroll through a webpage, the display driver ensures that every pixel is updated accurately and efficiently in real time. It manages resolution settings, refresh rates, color depth, and screen orientation.
